Croeso I Ysgol Maes Y Dderwen
Criw Cymraeg
Here at Oakfield, we have formed a Criw Cymraeg consisting of members from Blwyddyn 4, 5 & 6. They work hard to promote the Welsh Language around the school. The Welsh Government wants Wales to have a Million Welsh speakers by 2050. By using the Framework, Campus Cymraeg this helps promote Welsh from an early age.
We are currently working towards our Gwobr Aur Award (Gold Award), after achieving our Bronze and Silver award in the same academic year.
Criw Cymraeg have been doing a fantastic job promoting Welsh around school by setting challenges, and sentences patterns of the week and producing Welsh Assemblies online to share with the school.

Dewi Draig
We have our Class Mascot here at Oak Field called Dewi Draig. Each class can collect tokens for using Welsh inside and outside the classroom the class with the most tokens at the end of the week will have Dewi, Criw Cymraeg will count the tokens and hand Dewi out at the end of the week.

Mistar Learning Leek
We also have a School Mascot designed by Harry Harris as part of an Eisteddfod competition we held back in 2020
