Being a rights respected school allows the pupils of Oak Field Primary to discover, learn and gain knowledge towards big issues that the world is currently facing from the refuge crisis to climate change.
Being a rights respected school also gives the children a structure in making thier own decisions. This therefore helps them understand that they are respected and understood not just in school but also in the community.
Here at Oak Field Primary we are working towards our Siarter Iaith Gold Award to develop bilingualism across the school and to play our part in helping the Government reach their aim of one million Welsh speakers by 2050.
In November 2020 Oak Field Primary was awarded the green flag which flies proudly at the front of the school.
Children and staff have been very dedicated to gain this award. The eco council looked at key areas to support our environment. Key areas included;
water, waste minimisation, transport, healthy living, energy, litter and school grounds.
Next target is to gain the second green flag and by 2024 Oak Field Primary will be working hard towards a platinum award.
